Railway authorities have suspended train operations from Balochistan to other parts of the country for one day. Officials confirmed that the Jaffar Express from Quetta to Peshawar will not run today. Similarly, the Bolan Mail, traveling from Quetta to Karachi, has also been canceled. This decision follows severe flooding that has damaged railway tracks in several areas.
Authorities explained that floodwaters have made some tracks unsafe for train travel. The suspension aims to protect passengers and staff from potential accidents. Railway officials assured travelers that services will resume on Sunday. They also advised passengers to confirm train schedules before planning their journeys.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rainfall across multiple regions. Strong showers are expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Later today, rain is also likely in Sindh, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. These weather conditions add to ongoing flood concerns nationwide.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a high alert due to the ninth spell of monsoon rains. Heavy rains will continue in northern and upper districts until September 2. Authorities warned of possible flooding in rivers and urban areas, along with landslides in mountainous regions. This alert highlights risks to public safety and infrastructure.
Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to remain cautious. Flooding has disrupted transport and daily life in many areas. Authorities promise to restore services once conditions improve. Travelers and residents are advised to stay updated through official channels.
