KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid visited the Khardar residence of eminent social worker Dr Abdul Sattar Edhi on Sunday and inquired after his health.
He was accompanied by Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon and Senator Nihal Hashmi. Talking to the media, the minister said that he had specially come here to inquire after the health of Dr Edhi on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said that Dr Edhi had devoted his entire life to serve the humanity and set the example of simplicity, honesty and service, thus earned a good name for Pakistan. His work was acknowledged with appreciation all over the world, he added.
Pervaiz also expressed the hope that others would exemplify Dr Edhi by working for the cause of humanity. Answering a question, he said that every Pakistani gave respect and love to this great social worker and that was the biggest award.
