LAHORE – The opposition parties on Tuesday held consultation over formulation of terms of references (ToRs) for judicial commission.
A private TV channel reported that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq. The opposition has stood on a same point to prepare strategy against incumbent government over Panama leaks.
Khurshid, Qureshi and Siraj discussed the new ToRs of the investigation commission formed to probe into the Panama Leaks. They mounted pressure on the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government for consultation over the ToRs for a body under the chief justice of Pakistan to investigate Panama Papers leaks featuring alleged offshore assets of Sharif family.
The opposition leader also took the JI chief into confidence over joint session due on May 2. On the occasion, Siraj pledged to do everything to take the national assets back to Pakistan. The reports said that the representatives of opposition parties are likely to meet in Islamabad on May 2 to discuss future course of action.
