SRINAGAR: Paying glowing tributes to July 13 martyrs of 1931, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) resolved to take their mission to its logical conclusion.
According to press release issued, AAC said it was on July 13, 1931 that the foundation for Kashmir’s resistance movement was laid and the AAC founder, Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq used to observe the day with respect for the martyrs by paying tributes to them and this year the united resistance leadership of Kashmir had decided to observe the day with unity.
According to the AAC statement, AAC President and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq would lead a procession from Jamia Masjid Srinagar after the Dhur (afternoon) prayers to the Martyrs Graveyard at Naqshband Sahab shrine at Khawaja Bazaar.
The statement said other resistance leaders including the veteran resistance leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders would lead procession from already decided locations to the Martyrs Graveyard at Naqshband Sahab where special Fateh Khawani prayers would be offered for the July 13, 1931 martyrs and all other martyrs of Jammu Kashmir besides paying glowing tributes to them.
The AAC statement said on the occasion, it would also be resolved to take the mission of these martyrs to its logical conclusion. AAC has also appealed the freedom-loving people of Kashmir to maintain discipline and participate in this peaceful procession that would culminate at the Martyrs Graveyard at Naqshband Sahab.
Meanwhile, AAC condemned the government for not allowing the organization’s meeting that was to be chaired by its President, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, who has been under continuous house arrest for the past four days, to review preparations for the July 13 programme but could not be held due to curfew and restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley.
The spokesman said following the martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his two associates, bloodbath and barbarism by Indian forces in Kashmir had made clear India’s plans of carrying genocide of Kashmiris while killings dozens of Kashmiri youth and injuring hundreds of them during the past few days was worst example of state terrorism.
He urged the United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), emancipated people and the international community to take serious note of the abject human rights situation in Kashmir and pressurize Government of India to stop aggression on people and genocide of Kashmiris.
